Sen. Marco Rubio poses with G-Star School of the Arts founder Greg Hauptner at the Palm Beach International Film Festival.
Marco Rubio arrived in West Palm Beach Sunday for a slugfest, but in this one, he was only a spectator.
The Florida Senator and former Republican presidential candidate came to the Palm Beach International Film Festival to see “Lionheart,” a boxing film written and directed by his nephew, Miami filmmaker Orlando Cicilia, III.
Rubio showed up at the G-Star School of the Arts charter school, where the film was shown and posed for photos with fans and school personnel.
His nephew’s 11-minute short film tells the story of a struggling young boxer facing a crossroad in his career when he’s given the fight of his life. Cicilia has said he hopes to garner enough attention for his movie to expand it into a feature film.
Rubio wasn’t the only celebrity attending this year’s festival.
